We Come Apart by Sarah Crossan & Brian Conaghan
My Rating: ★★★★☆

* I received a copy of this book from NetGalley and Bloomsbury in exchange for an honest review*

When I first requested We Come Apart from NetGalley I had absolutely no idea it was written in free verse, or what free verse even was for that matter, I’d seen the book on someone’s Twitter or Instagram account (although I really don’t remember who’s) and I really liked the synopsis and wanted to read it. So it’s fair to say that when I started reading it, I was a little surprised with the way the book was written, a little is probably an understatement actually, I was really confused at first. For those of you like me that have absolutely no idea what free verse is, here’s a little description… Free verse is an open form of poetry, who knew? (If you’re still confused just search free verse online, it explains things much better than I can). Not only did We Come Apart totally surprise me with the way it was written but, it seriously surprised me that I absolutely loved the way it was written, see poetry isn’t really my thing, like at all, but I adored this book.

January Wrap Up & February TBR

img_4851-1

Hey guys, welcome to my first ever wrap up and TBR post!

So, I’ve actually been meaning to do Wrap Up and TBR posts for a while now, it’s taken me a little time to get into the whole rhythm of blogging and dividing my time properly, but I feel like I’m finally starting to get it right, kind of. The plan for 2017 is to (hopefully) post more, and not just necessarily more but also to post different things, instead of just memes, which I’ve noticed has previously been, well, pretty much my whole blog. So, I hope you guys enjoy this and everything else I have planned 🙂

My Top Ten Book Of 2016

Hey everyone!

First of all, I’m really sorry, I am super late with this post, I’m pretty sure every book blogger out there will have posted their best books of 2016 posts already and dumped 2016 where it needs to be, in the past. Although it is super late, I figured I’d still share my top books of 2016, just for fun.

So last year I read 88 books, which I don’t think is bad at all, especially considering I had to traipse through a long ass reading slump that lasted months! *Gives past reading slump the stink eye.* I’ve set myself a target for 100 books in 2017 which I’m hoping I’ll be able to annihilate, but we’ll see. Anyways, here are my top books of 2016 (and I am, again, really sorry it’s so late). Also, these are in no particular order.

Book Traveling Thursdays: My First Read Of 2017

img_4345

Book Traveling Thursdays is a weekly post hosted by Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog and Cátia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much. Each week we’re given a new topic, we pick a book related to that topic and post the original cover, the cover from your country, your favourite and your least favourite cover. If you’d like to get involved, everything you need to know is here!

This week’s topic is, with a new year come new books… choose your first read of 2017. My first read of 2017 was a book that had been on my TBR list for a long time. I decided that in 2017 I’m going to try and read books that have been gathering virtual dust on my TBR and not just new releases, so I figured it’d be good to start the year off with this one…

Book Traveling Thursdays: A Book I’d Like To Read For The First Time Again

Book Traveling Thursdays is a weekly post hosted by Danielle @ Danielle’s Book Blog and Cátia @ The Girl Who Read Too Much. This week the theme is, new beginnings… Choose a book you’d like to read for the first time again. I think if it was possible, every single one of us would have at least one book we’d like to forget we’d read, just so we can read it again not knowing what will happen! Hell, I have so many! This though, is the one I’d love to forget most…

Top 5 Wednesday: 2017 Goals

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly meme created by gingerreadslainey and hosted by Sam @ ThoughtsOnTomes, you can find out all you need to know about taking part by clicking here.

This weeks topic is, 2017 goals. I have some goals I’m looking to set this year in regards to reading/blogging, being more consistent with my posts and trying to fit in much more reading time etc. I also have a few personal goals set for the year, but I don’t tend to set myself many goals, I like to have a few that I know I can keep on top of, rather than loads and not being able to hit them all! So let’s take a look at my goals for 2017.

Book Traveling Thursdays: One Of My Favourite Books I Read In 2016

This week the theme is, it’s almost the end of the year, choose one of your favourite books of 2016! This year, I’ve read 88 books so far, my reading challenge was 150 and I’m so mad at the reading slump I was in for what felt like forever, but there’s still time dammit! Although there’s no way I’m going to read 62 books in the next two weeks, a girl can dream, right? Right? Lets have a look at one of my favourite books I read in 2016, before I cry about my failed reading challenge attempt 😛
